MYSTERY TRIP

GUIDED SKI & SPLITBOARD EXPEDITION

The concept is simple. We plan a mega shredventure; you don’t know a thing about where you’re going or what we’ve got in store for you until you get there. If you don’t like surprises, this is probably not the trip for you. If you do, get ready for the granddaddy of all surprises and a trip that will make you reconsider your typical approach to travel planning—and may just become your latest addiction. Just ask our repeat Mystery Trip clients, some of whom have signed up for nearly every one we’ve ever offered. It all began back in 2019, with a hunch that if clients have immense trust in our product and location choices, the actual destination can remain concealed. So for February 2020 we planned a trip where we disclosed nothing ahead of time other than the meeting point: Geneva, Switzerland. Those clients were treated to an unforgettable week-long stay at a private refuge above La Grave, France—staffed and catered, with beer and wine flown in by heli in the fall—with local legends Ptor Spricenieks and Joe Vallone as their guides. In 2022, after a short COVID-induced pause, our 2nd Annual Mystery Trip clients met in Istanbul and were handed tickets for an onward flight to Georgia, where they joined us in exploring a new zone while living in one of the most luxurious basecamps we’ve ever experienced. 2023 was no exception when it comes to surprises: the crew gathered in London and shortly thereafter boarded a flight to France, hours later finding themselves across the border in Val d’Aran, sitting down to a dinner of steak and wine while learning about our planned hut expedition in Spain’s most beautiful national park. In March 2024 the meeting point was Oslo, Norway, with a final destination north of the Arctic Circle where we skied late season powder and were awed by the northern lights on the Lofoten archipelago. In March 2025, the meet up location was again Istanbul—the crossroads of the world—but this time, instead of Turkey being just a waypoint, it was the final destination. Following a night in the city, the crew boarded a surprise domestic flight to Erzurum in the eastern part of the country. From there, it was a 5-hour drive before we finally landed in a tiny village at the literal end of the road, surrounded by the endless terrain of the Kaçkar Mountains. Most recently, in 2026, Istanbul was once again declared the meet up location, and even after distributing tickets for onward travel to Oskemen, Kazakhstan, the mystery remained a mystery. The final reveal was a week living at a luxury yurt camp in the Kazakh Altai, scoring early season powder turns in magical conifer and birch forests.

Our Mystery Trips are intended to happen only once…except for those that end up being so rad that they earn a spot on our list of regular offerings. Three mystery destinations have become mainstays in our lineup (Lofoten, Turkey, and Kazakhstan), and something tells us what we have planned for 2027 will be no exception!

ARRIVAL/DEPARTURE REQUIREMENTS

Participants will need to arrive in Milan on or before February 13. If arriving on February 13, your arrival airport will need to be Malpensa Airport (MXP), which is the official meeting point. We will provide a specific arrival time frame giving you enough time to collect your bags, meet the crew, and check in for your flight to the surprise destination. On the tail end, we will not arrive back to MXP until afternoon on February 21, which means that—depending on available flight times to your home destination—you may “need” to spend a final celebratory night in Milan and depart on February 22. If staying the night of the 21st (or longer) in Milan, we recommend that you consider Linate Airport (LIN) as the departure airport for your flight home, as it is much closer to the city center than MXP. If arriving early and/or staying after, accommodation in Milan as well as airport transfers will need to be arranged on your own.

PRICE INCLUDES

40 Tribes Lead and Tail Guides; Round trip flights between MXP and our destination, including baggage fees; Transportation and 8 nights lodging in our destination country; All meals in our destination country; 6 days of epic guided skiing/splitboarding!
