CANCELLATION/REFUND POLICIES

Our cancellation and refund policies underwent significant changes during the COVID-19 pandemic. As COVID is not entirely a thing of the past, we’ve decided to extend the same policies into 2025, offering a wide variety of options specific to COVID-related cancellations. Our goal is to provide you with maximum peace of mind while also ensuring that we can keep our wheels turning. In addition to what’s below, we want you to know that we are open to discussion and figuring out what works for all of us, as has always been the case.


Per Client Request

More than 4 months prior to the trip start date: We will gladly transfer payments to another booking within the current or following season. If you do not wish to transfer payments, we will offer a refund if we, or you, are able to find another individual or group to fill the booking.

Less than 4 months prior to the trip start date: All payments made are non-transferable and 50% refundable only if we, or you, are able to find another individual or group to fill the booking.

Due to COVID-19

If we are unable to run the trip for any reason that is COVID-related:

More than 3 months prior to the trip start date:

Option one: 100% of payments made are transferable to the following year’s trip.

Option two: We will work with you to get you switched over to a trip that is running, assuming there’s space.

Option three: We will offer a refund less the deposit amount, which can always be reclaimed in the form of a credit on a future booking.

6 weeks-3 months prior to the trip start date: 75% of payments made are transferable to the following year’s trip.

Less than 6 weeks prior to the trip start date: 50% of payments made are transferable to the following year’s trip.

Less than 2 weeks prior to the trip start date: 25% of payments made are refundable or transferable to the following year’s trip.

Back-to-back cancellations: If we are holding only a deposit and are forced to cancel your trip two seasons in a row, that amount will become entirely non-refundable and non-transferable.

Rights Reserved

We reserve the right to cancel trips at any time due to unsettling political, social or environmental events, in which case the same transfer/refund options we’re offering for COVID will apply. We additionally reserve the right to cancel due to inadequate client registrations, at which time we will offer a refund in full.

Exclusions

We cannot offer refunds for missed reservations, early departures, inclement weather/extreme avalanche danger, snow conditions, or force majeure events beyond the COVID-19 pandemic, and are not responsible for additional expenses incurred in preparing for the trip (e.g. airline tickets, visa application fees, equipment purchases, etc).

 

BALANCES

Balances are due 4 months prior to trip start. If, at the 4-month mark, we have specific concerns about our ability to run the trip due to COVID-related issues (border closures, complicated entry requirements, etc), we will delay the due date for as long as possible before needing to fulfill financial obligations. Balances are equal to the remaining 80% of trip cost. Balances not paid within 10 days of request will incur a fee of 0.5% the amount due every day thereafter.
