TAIL GUIDE (KYRGYZSTAN, GEORGIA)
FROM: BRITISH COLUMBIA, CANADA
Originally from Quebec, Canada, Xavier (Xav) has been skiing since he was three and ski racing since he was eight. Passionate about skiing, climbing and mountaineering, he made the move out to Squamish, British Columbia in 2010 and has skied all over the province since. Xav's experience working as tail guide for Monashee Powder Snowcats during the winter of 2016-17 and as our tail guide in the Republic of Georgia and Kyrgyzstan for the past 2 winters has emboldened him to begin pursuing full certification as an Association of Canadian Mountain Guides guide. Inspired by 40 Tribes' emphasis on cultural exploration and exchange and not just powder turns, he envisions a future for himself guiding around the world. Xav will tail guide WKS 2-6 of our 2020 Kyrgyzstan season—the third season in a row he will have been based out our yurts at Jalpak Tash. At this point, few know the zone better than Xav.
