KASIDIN MUSAEV

PRIMARY PARTNER & YURT HOST (KYRGYZSTAN)/SKI GUIDE IN TRAINING

FROM: MAMAN VILLAGE, KYRGYZSTAN

Kasidin (aka Kas, aka Kasanova) first joined us in the fall of 2011 and has since become the face of 40 Tribes operations in Kyrgyzstan. Kas is from a small village between Karakol and the mountain zone where we operate. He grew up skiing at the local ski base, and when we first met him, had a pair of 190cm straight skis that some Norwegian tourists had left him. As soon as Kas started skiing proper pow skis, brought over by Ptor, his natural ripper came out. Today, he's skiing one of a kind Pogo skis and is well on his way to becoming Kyrgyzstan's next best backcountry ski guide. Kas loves to ski pow, and joins us on our tours as often as possible, training under our lead guides and oftentimes impressing clients with his mountain skills. In addition to tackling behind-the-scenes logistics for 40 Tribes' Kyrgyzstan operations, Kas works together with Nurbek at the Jalpak Tash Yurts each winter as our jack of all trades - planning meals, coordinating food resupplies, keeping the fires burning, and generally making sure clients are stoked and yurt life couldn’t get any better. In the summer Kas works as a trekking, climbing, and mountaineering guide and has recently launched his own tour company, Kyrgyz Tours.
